Universal Rules (All Feeds)
These apply everywhere on Block Friendly — Safety, Marketplace, Business Directory, and The Front Porch.
- 1You must be a verified neighbor in Polk County, Florida. Fake addresses, spoofed ZIPs, or out-of-area accounts will be removed.
- 2One person, one account. No duplicate, secondary, or anonymous accounts.
- 3Use your real first name and a recognizable profile. No impersonation of neighbors, businesses, officials, or Block Friendly staff.
- 4No requesting, soliciting, or begging for money in any form.
- 5No harassment, bullying, threats, slurs, doxxing, or targeted attacks on any neighbor, business, or group.
- 6No hate speech, discrimination, or content attacking people based on race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or national origin.
- 7No illegal activity — including the sale or promotion of drugs, weapons regulated by law, stolen goods, or counterfeit items.
- 8No sexual, explicit, or graphically violent content. Keep it neighborhood-appropriate.
- 9No spam, scams, phishing, chain messages, MLM recruiting, or repetitive promotional posts.
- 10No misinformation about emergencies, public safety, elections, or health that could cause real-world harm.
- 11Respect privacy. Do not post other people's addresses, phone numbers, license plates, photos of minors, or surveillance footage of identifiable people without consent.
Safety & Alerts Feed
This feed exists to keep neighbors informed about real, time-sensitive safety concerns.
- 1Post only verifiable safety information — suspicious activity you witnessed, missing persons or pets, weather events, road hazards, scams targeting the neighborhood.
- 2No vigilante calls to action, no 'go confront this person,' no encouraging confrontation or violence.
- 3Do not accuse specific named individuals of crimes without evidence. Describe behavior, not identities.
- 4No racial profiling. 'Suspicious' is a behavior, not an appearance.
- 5Report active emergencies to 911 first. Block Friendly is not an emergency service.
Marketplace Feed
Buying, selling, free items, curb alerts, and 'in search of' posts between verified neighbors.
- 1Sellers must be the actual owner of the item and physically located in Polk County.
- 2Listings must include a clear item, photo, price (or 'free'), and pickup area.
- 3Mentioning Venmo, CashApp, Zelle, or PayPal as a payment method for a real item is allowed. Asking for money without a real item for sale is not.
- 4No firearms, ammunition, prescription drugs, vapes, alcohol, tobacco, live animals, recalled items, or counterfeit goods.
- 5No multi-level marketing, dropshipping, reselling of mass-market new goods, or business inventory. Marketplace is neighbor-to-neighbor only.
- 6Honor your sale. No bait-and-switch pricing, no ghosting a confirmed pickup, no misrepresenting condition.
- 7Businesses advertising goods or services belong in the Verified Business Directory, not Marketplace.
Verified Business Directory
Local, licensed Polk County businesses serving verified neighbors.
- 1Businesses must be licensed and insured where required by Florida law. Upload current documents during verification.
- 2Listings must accurately describe services, service area, pricing structure, and contact information.
- 3No fake reviews, no review trading, no incentivizing reviews in exchange for discounts or gifts.
- 4Respond to neighbor inquiries professionally. Disputes handled publicly with hostility will result in removal.
- 5No spamming the other feeds with promotional content. The Directory is your space to promote.
- 6Maintain your Block Friendly badge by keeping insurance and license documents current.
The Front Porch
Casual discussion, neighborhood recommendations, and light banter. No Karens welcome.
- 1Be neighborly. Disagree without being cruel.
- 2Recommendations should be genuine personal experience, not paid promotion.
- 3No political rage-bait, no national news arguments, no inflammatory takes meant to provoke. Keep it local and human.
- 4No public shaming of named individuals, businesses, or service workers for minor grievances. Take real disputes offline or through proper channels.
- 5Keep gossip out. If you would not say it on your actual front porch to your neighbor's face, do not post it.
Enforcement
- 1Posts that solicit money are automatically flagged or removed. Repeated violations or hard-match begging triggers immediate account suspension.
- 2First violation of most rules: post removed, written warning, possible temporary suspension.
- 3Repeat or severe violations: permanent account closure and ban from Block Friendly.
- 4Suspended users are notified by email with the reason and the flagged content.
- 5You may appeal a suspension by replying to the notification email or contacting support@blockfriendly.com. Reinstatement is at the sole discretion of Block Friendly moderators.
- 6Attempting to circumvent a ban by creating a new account is itself a permanent-ban offense.
- 7Block Friendly cooperates with law enforcement on credible threats, illegal activity, and court orders.
